A Day in the Life of An Aircraft Engineer
Today we introduce you to Ian Sear, an aircraft engineer who didn't want to be photographed but who has worked on behalf of MPI for well over a decade. Ian is part a project team based at Broughton who support a number of clients on a variety of tasks for MPI. They are an incredible team who we are very proud of.
We asked Ian a number of questions, serious and silly to get an insight into contracting in this day, age and industry.

?Family Connections- my Father
2. Can you describe a typical day in your life as a contract aircraft engineer and how do they differ to a permie?
3. What are the key responsibilities and tasks you handle on a daily basis?
Ensuring that Airbus and others are supported for any issues that arise throughout the day?
4. Can you share a challenging situation you've faced in your career and how you resolved it?
?We had to do a bracket swap on a fully assembled wing with systems already installed and minimal tooling available, we also had a major time constraint as the aircraft was imminently due for delivery. It was high pressured but we are a great team and made it work
5. Do you stay updated on the latest advancements and technologies in the aviation industry?
?Yes we are able to see a lot through Airbus TV and their notice boards on site
