A Day of Inspiration and Innovation at Mailchimp’s FROM: HERE,TO: THERE conference!

Wow, what an incredible day! Intuit Mailchimp truly outdid themselves with their impeccable hospitality. The venue was fantastic, the food was delectable, and the speakers were nothing short of amazing.

From start (HERE) to finish (THERE), the event was packed with insightful sessions and exciting new functionalities coming out of Mailchimp. But what truly stood out was that the content wasn’t just about Mailchimp or email. It was designed to inspire, challenge, and make us reflect. It provided a renewed sense of energy (which I never really need, but it’s always good to get a full battery recharge!). I left feeling invigorated and eager to share my findings and start applying some of my learnings to my clients’ campaigns.

One of the highlights for me was getting a selfie and a book signed by Katherine Ryan. Seeing Rory Sutherland and Steven Bartlett on stage was brilliant, and Mark Ritson , well, what a keynote speaker! Hello Fuckers! His session was incredibly engaging and packed with practical insights.


Highlights and Takeaways:

  1. Consumer-Centric Marketing: Mark reminded us that successful marketing starts with understanding the consumer. It’s crucial to see the world through their eyes and address their needs directly. Chlo? Thomas also backed this up talking about the importance of building connections and trust with customers and leveraging customer insights for better engagement.
  2. Balanced Strategy: The importance of balancing long-term brand building with short-term sales activation was a recurring theme. This dual approach ensures sustained growth and immediate results.
  3. Innovative Pricing: Mark’s insights on pricing strategies were particularly eye-opening. Effective pricing isn’t just about setting a price; it’s about researching what consumers are willing to pay and communicating that price effectively.
  4. Diverse Channels: Utilising a diverse array of marketing channels can significantly enhance ROI. The research presented showed that campaigns using multiple channels perform better than those relying on a single medium. (5 Channels 35% uplift!)
  5. AI in Marketing: There was a significant focus on the role of AI in marketing from the likes of Mo Gawdat , Nina Schick Jon Evans . The discussions highlighted how AI is transforming our industry, from synthetic data surpassing customer data to the potential of AI-driven marketing strategies in the early 2030s. Marketers are encouraged to start integrating AI into their workflows to stay ahead.
  6. Mailchimp’s New Functionalities: It was exciting to learn from Rania Succar about Mailchimp’s latest features, including the launch of SMS in the UK this week. Additionally, the new financial AI tool that helps predict and manage cash flow and financial health was particularly impressive. These tools are set to revolutionise how we engage with our audiences and manage our marketing efforts.


Practical Application

The event wasn’t just theoretical. It provided actionable insights that I’m excited to implement in my clients’ campaigns. Throughout the day, I appreciated how the event reinforced that I am on the right track with my strategies. It’s always great to hear that your thinking is validated by industry leaders.

I’m leaving this event with a notebook full of ideas, a heart full of inspiration, and a renewed commitment to delivering the best results for my clients. Kudos to Mailchimp for hosting such an exceptional event. Here’s to applying these insights and driving even greater success in our marketing efforts!
