It was a beautiful cold evening in October on the West side of Kansas City Missouri. Fall leaves brown and amber are blowing in the air. The crispness of Old man Winter is felt in the air. The parade is forming and putting the last finishing touches on the night attractions. Families gather drinking hot chocolate to stay warm and carrying pictures of loved ones that have passed. Love is in the air and happiness celebrating their lives and the impact they have on the community. Children running around playing in the leaves excited to see the parade and the treat that come with it. #dead #people #love #man #life #friends #someone #night #today #happy #holiday #history #life Thanks for the follow @hccgkc #connect, #engage, and #develop Tweet @sfi8593913 @Socialshadow1 @asmpkc @kcphotonetwork #kcphotonetwork IG @stf3377

Next I continued my journey on another incredible community gathering celebrating love ones, and remembrance of the family that has gone before us with my Kansas City, Kansas family at the Central Avenue Betterment Association #CABA Day of the Dead Parade. This celebration was the culmination of a larger community action that is really taking off and continues to have an impact on the community, the businesses that operate within and along Central Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas. The weather was perfect, the temperature hovered around the high 50's and a small breeze in the air for it to be a little crisp. Fantastic culinary aromas hit me as I walked up and down the parade route from popup kitchen with fantastic delicacies from the different states ad countries in Latin America. I witnessed long-held esteemed dances that carry culture, history, #traditions down from one generation to the next. I witness a beautiful spectacle honoring the past in dance, along with adorned altar remembering loved ones that have gone before us. I saw my friends and comrades along the parade route having a great time socializing, talking, dancing, and trading smiles.

An adornment of bones, and painted faces to represent and remember death that we all cannot escape. It is not a sad time, but a time to reminisce about good times in the past and move forward with hope. #death #love #man #people #time #year #god #world #happy #hope #loveyou #hour #muertos

I ended my journey with death or Muertos by attending the day of the dead festival held at the #NelsonAtkinsMuseum in Kansas City, Mo. It was very well attended. The crowds of patrons were massive. People congregating inside and outside the museum grounds to see the different scheduled activities created just for the day's activity. Food was provided for a nominal fee by the Tamale kitchen @tamaliekitchen. I attended one of the events in the performance hall where it was standing room only. I grabbed some great shots of youngsters who celebrated their culture through instructional dance.

This was a great #Fall weekend
