We know that a team cannot grow beyond the level of their leader. Teams are a reflection of their leader. Typically, a team performs at a notch lower than the levels of their leader.
What should you then do if you want to expand the capacity and performance of your team?
It means you have to raise your ceiling
You have to raise your game
You have to raise your bar and then…
Your team will also raise their game.
Here are different moves you can take to raise your game as a leader…
·???????? Hire a coach because you will receive brutal and honest feedback which will raise your awareness

·???????? Consume more valuable information - books, online programs, courses, workshops and the like to connect with new experiences that could be transformational at a personal, professional and organizational level.
·???????? Expand your environment by moving into new and higher-level groups like clubs and masterminds which will boost the flow of ideas and inspiration in your life
·???????? Get a mentor who is operating at a higher level because you will end up modelling them which will only take you to better levels than ever before
·???????? Ask for feedback from your team in terms of what you could do differently to become a better leader. They know what you need to work on. Even if you fail to agree with everything they will highlight, at least you will pick up one idea that is worth considering and engaging with.
·???????? Figure out a way to upgrade you emotional, spiritual and physical life. It could be fitness, more sleep, forgiveness, better diet and more quiet time with God. Such practices can only make you a better human being and therefore a better leader in the process.
Based on the different angles highlighted above, then, develop an action plan. Two to three actions are enough to get you going. And as you get better, your team will mirror you in the process.
