DAY 84: Never Forget This.

"You have come a long way, and still, you have only just begun. You are a marked man," Grandpa told me.

"You do have one more obligation Donavon," Grandpa says to me as he gives me his hand in congratulations.

"Obligation? Are you sure?" I ask, thinking that I'm a free man.

"I'm very sure," Grandpa says as he starts to grin from ear to ear.

"You have made it to a place that few people get; you are a marked man, and now everything you do and say will be weighed against the standards that you have incorporated into your life. I want you to promise me that you will not forget the next generation," Grandpa continues.

"Grandpa, what do you mean, 'don't forget the next generation'?" I ask.

"Do you remember the people who have helped you not only in your projects that you did but also in your schooling? They passed on to you something that they can never get back: time. They gave their time because they understand that true happiness is not in what you have but in respecting a basic formula for a fulfilled life. One part of this formula is to help others to achieve their greatness," Grandpa clearly explains.

"What about the rest of the formula?" I ask with curious intent.

"Son, once you can walk, then you can run. As you master one part of the formula, other parts will reveal themselves to you," Grandpa said with a smile on his face.

Never forget the lessons that you have been taught on the journey that you find yourself on. The way to show respect to those who have taken the time to share with you secrets is to pass on the favor to the next generation.
