Day 7: The People Who Have Influenced Me In Digital Health
I have been interested in digital health for a while now.
But I owe a lot of the progress I've made to these people:
The Emerging Healthcare Leaders (ELF) Community
Back in 2021, I made the great decision of joining the ELF Emerging Leader Forum mentorship program. I was matched with the amazing Helen Edwards , who is always endlessly positive, encouraging, and responsive. Over the last 4 years, Helen offered me much-need helpful advice. I've been lucky to work on a few projects with her. I've also met others with a passion for digital health, like Christopher Ng-Fletcher and Zayn Khamis . They are super-networkers who introduced me to a like-minded community.
Sue Niemeier
She doesn't realize this - but I seriously admire Susan Niemeier, MHA, BSN, RN . Ever since I've learned about her career path going from bedside nurse to product manager to now VP at Fresenius Kabi, I've aspired to be just like her. Sue is great at inspiring others to work towards the better world she envisions: safer healthcare through technology.
Tim Fitzpatrick
Tim Fitzpatrick works at the intersection of three great loves of mine: kidney care, digital health, and patient self-care. There isn't a corner of this world Tim hasn't explored. His LinkedIn is my go-to news source on this topic. I'm also looking at Tim as I start my digital writing journey, to learn how I can build an engaged audience base like he has.
These people have taught me so much—and, just like they did with me, I hope to pass along my own learnings to the next person.
