DAY 7 - HEAVEN'S PURPOSE

SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1:8

"God called the vault ‘sky.’ And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day."

PRINCIPLE: Heaven speaks of God’s majesty and order.

The sky represents the vastness and beauty of God's creation, reflecting His glory. In the kingdom, our eyes must be lifted to heavenly purposes, beyond earthly distractions.

DEVOTION

God named the vault "sky," and in doing so, He gave it a purpose: to reflect His majesty and to separate the heavens from the earth. The sky reminds us of the greatness of God—His vastness, creativity, and beauty. Every time we look up, we see a glimpse of His glory.

In the kingdom, we are called to keep our eyes on heavenly things. Paul writes in Colossians 3:2, "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." This means that as citizens of the kingdom, we must lift our focus from the temporary distractions of this world and fix our gaze on God’s eternal purpose.

When we look to heaven, we are reminded of the higher calling we have in Christ. Our goals, decisions, and desires must align with His kingdom, not the fleeting pleasures of the earth. This perspective shifts the way we live—we no longer pursue what is temporary but what is eternal.

Ask yourself: Are you living with a heavenly mindset? Or are you focused on earthly concerns that are temporary? In the kingdom, God calls us to live with an eternal perspective, always mindful of His purpose and glory.

PRAYER

"Lord, help me to lift my eyes to Your heavenly purposes. When I am distracted by the cares of this world, remind me of Your eternal kingdom. Let my decisions reflect a heart set on heaven, and may I live each day for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

WORD TO REMEMBER: Majesty.

God’s kingdom is majestic, and our lives should reflect His eternal glory. Keep your focus on heaven and live with eternity in mind.
