DAY 57 - THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL.

SCRIPTURE: Genesis 3:22

"And the Lord God said, 'The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.'"

PRINCIPLE: God’s protection sometimes comes through separation.

In the kingdom, His boundaries are acts of love meant to guide us back to Him.

DEVOTION

God’s statement about humanity knowing good and evil reflects a significant shift. The innocence of Adam and Eve was replaced by the burden of moral awareness, one they were never meant to carry apart from God. His decision to block access to the tree of life was not an act of punishment, but of mercy. Eternal life in a state of sin and separation from God would have been unbearable.

In the kingdom, God’s boundaries often protect us from greater harm. Though separation from the tree of life seemed harsh, it was part of His redemptive plan to bring humanity back to Him through Jesus Christ. His love ensures that every restriction is for our ultimate good, guiding us toward eternal life in Him.

Reflect on any restrictions or closed doors in your life. Could these be God’s way of protecting or redirecting you? Trust that His plans are for your good, even when they are hard to understand.

PRAYER

"Lord, thank You for Your loving protection, even when it comes in the form of boundaries. Help me to trust Your wisdom and to see Your hand at work in my life. Guide me to live within Your will and to embrace Your redemptive plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

WORD TO REMEMBER: Protection.

God’s boundaries shield us from harm and guide us to His eternal purposes.
