Help Someone Be Seen - Day 5: Be Part of the Solution (FOR SOMEONE ELSE)

This article is part of the "HELP Someone Be Seen: A New Year’s Challenge Inspired by the Meaning of Christmas." Be sure to check out the introductory post to understand the full scope of this impactful initiative!

It’s the grand finale of the HELP Someone Be Seen Challenge, and we’re going all in. Day 5 is about looking ahead, showing up differently in 2025, and embracing the opportunity to be part of the solution for someone else.

Reflect on the Week

Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane with the challenges you’ve crushed so far: 1?? Show Up Differently: You didn’t just “like” someone’s post—you shared it and made connections! ?? 2?? Reach Out and Share Resources: You sent messages, shared job tips, and highlighted open roles. ?? 3?? Write a Recommendation and Offer Mentorship: You made someone’s LinkedIn shine and provided invaluable advice. ?? 4?? Rethink Your Hiring Practices: You didn’t just think outside the box—you tossed the box altogether! ????

Commit to Consistent Impact

On this final day, it’s time to commit to ongoing actions that help job seekers, peers, and colleagues. Here’s how:

  • Empathy: Approach every interaction with understanding and kindness. I'm sorry, if someone says they've been unemployed for a year and they are about to lose their house, or whatever awful thing has happened to them, well you could change the trajectory of their life.
  • Fairness: Evaluate people based on potential, not just past experience.
  • Support: Share resources, provide mentorship, and champion others regularly.

Why It Matters

Showing up differently isn’t about grand gestures or quick fixes—it’s about creating a ripple effect of kindness and opportunity. Together, we can turn small acts of service into a transformative culture shift.

Call to Action

Let’s wrap up this challenge with a bang:

  1. Share this challenge with your network!
  2. Reflect on how you’ll make 2025 the year of showing up.
  3. Take the "HELP Someone Be Seen" mantra into your daily life: one small action, every day.

And remember: It’s not just about who you help—it’s about inspiring others to do the same. Now go out there and be awesome. ??
