Day 5 but this isn't just the CIO

Day 5 but this isn't just the CIO

For the final of the original five reasons I again want to say this is not just for the CIO or IT leaders but for everyone that is a leader in the business and even the contributors.

“Excusing Poor Teamwork?-?"They are brilliant!" is not an excuse for "They are a jerk!".?A CIO that wants to succeed must foster a team that works FOR the organization and not just IN the organization.” -Nathaniel Morris

If you are part of a team be a good team player. To the rest of the team, don’t make excuses for a poor team player of for [poor teamwork.?It’s true not all teams that are put together are going to be high performing. Matter fact some are just completely dysfunctional.?We’ve all been there in our careers.

The thing is that the leader of the team needs to step up in these situations. It doesn’t matter where you are in the hierarchy of the organization. Don’t make an excuse, fix the problem.?Start with identifying the dysfunction or the performance issue. If it’s how the team operates bring the team together, work through it to get it corrected and move on.?If it’s an individual or individuals on the team, take them aside and have the conversation with them about what the issue(s) are and how a corrective action can be put in place.?Maybe the situation is that you have someone doing the wrong thing on the team and that giving them other assignments elevates the dreams performance.

The majority of the time this will be all that is needed.?I believe people want to do the right thing. Never measure people by their weaknesses but always their strengths.

What actions do you recommend transforming fear, uncertainty and doubt? 2, What is the benefit of community service, helping others, or volunteering when you do not yet have a job? 3.
