?? Week 6: Growth & Adaptability in Your Career (Days 39–45)

?? Day 40: Be Your Own Career Coach—How to Self-Reflect Like a Boss

Be honest—when was the last time you really checked in on your career?

Not just complaining about work over brunch or daydreaming about quitting in the middle of a meeting (we’ve all been there), but actually sitting down and asking yourself:

? Am I growing or just going through the motions?

? What’s working for me—and what’s holding me back?

? If I stay on this path, will I end up where I actually want to be?

Because here’s the thing—the most successful people don’t just wait for feedback. They give it to themselves first.

The people who move up the fastest aren’t sitting around waiting for their boss to tell them what to work on. They’re already assessing, adjusting, and improving on their own.

Today, we’re making YOU that person.

?? Day 40 Tip: If You Can Evaluate Yourself, No One Else Can Catch You Off Guard

Ever had a performance review that made you sit there thinking, “Wait, what?!” Like suddenly your boss has a whole list of things you should be improving—but somehow, no one mentioned them before today?

?? That’s why self-reflection is a career superpower. ??

If you do regular self-check-ins, nothing can surprise you. You’ll always be ahead of the game.

?? Step-by-Step Assignment (20 Minutes)

1?? Ask Yourself the ‘Career Check-In’ Questions

Grab a notebook, your Notes app, or even a voice memo (if you’re fancy like that) and ask yourself:

? Am I learning and growing or just repeating the same year over and over?

? What’s one thing I’m doing really well that I should double down on?

? What’s one thing I KNOW I need to improve but keep putting off?

? If my boss, team, or clients were reviewing me today, what would they say?

?? Why this works: You’re getting ahead of performance reviews and spotting areas to improve before someone else points them out.

2?? Rate Yourself on the Big 5 Career Growth Factors

Be honest—on a scale from 1-10, how are you doing in these areas?

?? Communication – Are you clear and confident, or do people talk over you?

?? Problem-Solving – Do you bring solutions or just highlight problems?

?? Leadership Presence – Are you acting like someone worth following?

?? Visibility – Is your work getting noticed, or are you the office’s best-kept secret?

?? Learning & Adaptability – Are you staying sharp or falling behind industry trends?

?? Pro Tip: If any score is a 6 or below, that’s your career homework for the next month.

3?? Spot Your ‘Career Blockers’ and Make a Plan

Most people stay stuck because they ignore one or two major roadblocks. Let’s fix that.

?? Example 1: "I don’t get enough recognition."

?? Solution: Start sharing your wins more openly (LinkedIn, team meetings, etc.).

?? Example 2: "I don’t feel confident in meetings."

?? Solution: Set a small goal to speak up at least once per meeting.

?? Example 3: "I feel stuck but don’t know what’s next."

?? Solution: Find a mentor, take an assessment, or book a career coaching session with me (shameless plug, but facts).

?? Why this works: Instead of just feeling stuck, you’re taking action.

4?? Turn Reflection into Action (Because Thinking Isn’t Enough)

Reflection is great, but it doesn’t mean anything if you don’t act on it.

? Pick ONE thing to improve this month. Just one. Trying to fix everything at once = fixing nothing.

? Find an accountability partner. A friend, mentor, or even a LinkedIn post saying, “I’m committing to improving my visibility at work this month.”

? Set a deadline. If it’s not scheduled, it’s not happening.

?? Small changes stack up. If you improve just 1% every week, imagine where you’ll be in six months.

?? Your Day 40 Challenge

?? Career Check-In Challenge: Take 10 minutes today and answer the self-reflection questions (yes, actually do it!). Then:

? Pick one career habit to improve this month.

? Drop a comment—what’s one thing you KNOW you need to work on, but keep putting off? No judgment, just growth! #90Days90Tips

Why This Matters

People who self-assess regularly:

? Get promoted faster because they already know what to improve.

? Avoid career stagnation by actively tracking their growth.

? Feel more confident in performance reviews because nothing catches them off guard.

Because here’s the truth: The people who win aren’t necessarily the smartest or hardest-working. They’re just the ones who take control of their own growth.

Looking Ahead to Day 41

Tomorrow, we’re talking about Learning Agility—why being able to adapt quickly is your #1 career advantage in today’s world. Because let’s be real—jobs are changing fast, and you’ve got to keep up. ??
