Day 30 I Have Witnessed
30.4.2022
I Have Witnessed
Only once in four decades,
I took a stand,
It was against my own clan,
I fought with all my might,
What I believed to be right.
Today one can ask,
When things have subsided,
Peace retained,
Relationships maintained,
What did I gain?
Did I ever get what I wanted?
No, I learned it the hard way,
It was not mine in the first place,
This is an important lesson I learned.
Instead,
I have witnessed,
Life, relationships, myself and the people,
In their complete nakedness,
I have witnessed,
The illusions that curtail our vision,
And witnessed them evaporate.
I have witnessed,
Love had no meaning,
Without matched actions,
Love is just a meaningless word.
It was in these darkest times,
That I turned inwards,
With my world burnt to ashes,
With the beliefs smoldered,
'Who am I', was unriddled.
In the darkest hole,
I had found me,
I re-built my self-esteem,
Brick by brick, stone by stone,
It was a resurrection,
That was meant to be.
I earned my self-worth,
I learned I had courage,
I evoked resilience & power,
within me,
from its dormant phase.
Will I do it again?
The answer is affirmative,
If I believe in something,
If it's true to my conscience,
If it's true to the core.
I won't hesitate,
To take a stand,
For, what I believe at that point,
Even if it means breaking all the shackles.
For I have discovered,
As per the greater plan,
I am a warrior, and a phoenix,
Having witnessed & resurrected,
I am beyond death & fear.
