• Regular Cleaning: The boiling chamber should be cleaned to prevent mineral buildup. The frequency hinges on water hardness—monthly or quarterly cleanings might be in order.
• Holding Tank Cleaning: The bottom tank can become contaminated depending on the surrounding environment; therefore, you need to pay attention to this critical part of the operation, where your pure water resides.
• Steam Sterilization: It is recommended that at least once a year you should steam sterilize the system, from the condensing coil to the bottom tank ensuring any bacteria or viruses are neutralized.
• Charcoal Replacement: Coconut charcoal, positioned between the boiling and holding tanks, polishes the steam-produced water, ensuring any volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are trapped and removed. Replacing this charcoal periodically is essential.
• Component Checks: Inspecting cooling systems and other integral parts to maintain optimal efficiency.
• Gasket Care: Given their vulnerability, gaskets need periodic inspection and potential replacement.
