Day 23/30 : The Fridge Magnets

Today Let me draw an analogy between how as mother founders we roll!!

Imagine your startup as a bustling household, each facet demanding attention and coordination.

Now, visualize what is the most underrated item you have in your kitchen but is the only one that HOLDS the household together!

Yes, You Got it Right! The Fridge Magnets!

The fridge magnets act as the tools that effortlessly hold up everything – from the kids' schedules to meal planning and grocery lists. and now imagine you have these digital wonders, in the form of automation tools, that have the power to transform the way your startup operates, even when you're not physically present.

IT HOLDS PROCESSES AND THINGS TOGETHER FOR YOU!

Let's delve into this analogy to understand how installing these digital fridge magnets can elevate your startup's efficiency and productivity.

1. Automations as Digital Magnets:

Just as fridge magnets hold up essential notes and reminders, automation tools act as digital magnets for your startup. From managing daily tasks to coordinating workflows, these tools ensure that everything stays in place, allowing your team to operate smoothly, even in your absence. From auto replies, to email flows, to membership invitations and welcome messages. When you design your digital frontier, include this key component . Like a Stack of Jenga, It will help you hold a strong foundation!

2. Kids' Schedule vs. Team Coordination:

In a household, managing the kids' schedules requires careful planning and coordination. Similarly, your startup demands efficient team coordination. Automation tools, like calendly ( oaid version), or free google calendar workspaces, or project management platforms can help others find you and book you for a slot without you sending 1-1 invitations after a to and fro of emails finding common convenient times!

3. Meal Planning Analogous to Project Management:

If you manage the Meal planning in a household you know it for sure is akin to project management in a startup. Stock availability, Expectation of Runway, Interruptions and Accidents. Having Implementations across Tools like Zapier, Pabbly, or Hubspot CRMS, can help you plan and organize tasks, set timelines, and even handle Common Accidental Exceptional Circumstances. Any Task that is repeated, automation tools ensure that it is executed with precision, leaving less chance for accidents to happen.

e.g. When a user submits a form, based on which country they submit, an email is sent to the country specific host, the user and the admin along with a message to the user, a reminder to the event, a post event email and a feedback review.

Once SET, the systems can help you repeat the process while you actually fix up your fridge!!

4. Grocery Lists vs. Task Lists:

Just as a well-organized grocery list is crucial for a smooth household operation, task lists are imperative for the team success. There are many Digital task management tools that act as the fridge magnets for your startup, holding up the lists of priorities, deadlines, and assignments. They create order in the chaos, ensuring that your team stays focused on the essentials. Some that I have used are Teamspace, Trello, Asana. I tried them all, but well I wish I had done and utilized their power well!

5. Even When You're Not There:

The beauty of automation tools liek zapier, pabbly, manychat and the likes is that acting as digital fridge magnets , it is in their ability to hold things together even when you're not physically present. The household runs ( or has the potential to somewhat run as smoothly in your absence too)

Similarly, automation tools empower your startup to function seamlessly in your absence. Automated workflows, scheduled tasks, and intelligent notifications ensure that operations continue smoothly, allowing you to step back without worrying about things falling apart or you having to reply to each social media comment, each social media like, every chat message on facebook, every email that is clicked from a link.

IT IS ALL IN THE SYSTEMS!

6. Installing Fridge Magnets for Your Startup:

If you are not tech savvy, hire someone who can help you build these systems! But before you get them to build, know exactly the "KEY TASKS" , you need to build. Understand your customer journey and the processes of your businesses and take the repeated operational tasks that you can delegate a system to do.

If you need some introductory help, Book a Call With Me! ( Link in Bio)

I wish I had known all this wayyyy before. Maybe then I would have gotten more time and attention for the giggles and bed stories, instead of the instant gratification of replying to a whatsapp message to join the group chats right then!!!

FYI, If you would like to join our group chats for mothers in HK and Singapore: see you here: https://bit.ly/meetmumz_registrations

MY INSIGHTS:

???? Just as fridge magnets simplify the chaos of a household, digital tools can streamline and simplify your startup's operations and more importantly your life! Learn about automation tools, the tasks they can perform and invest your time in building your customer journey once, so you can enjoy doing less operations and more giggle time over the ice-cream in the fridge!
