Day 23: Christmas Eve
Day 23. The Day before Christmas. Stores are packed, streets are filled, horns are honking and the Christmas spirit is no where to be found. Well, at least it seemed to be lost. My sister and I decided to go for a walk around our neighborhood and we shared Air-pods so that we may listen to the same music instead of the aggressive horns and people cursing each other outside of their car windows. Walking close to my sister with this common energy and sharing music brought over me a sense of peace. A calm that I haven’t felt in such a long time. Even through the noise of busyness that surrounded us, I felt as though she and I could live in that moment in pure joy for a lifetime.
We decided to join the chaos in the mall but just to go for a stroll. We went to Mass with the family and enjoyed Christmas dinner with my small family of 4. One of the benefits of having my sister around is having someone to play chess with. Yes, Chess. I enjoy a strategy game. My sister is a very intellectual individual so it's not easy playing with her but highly satisfying when I beat her. But she has her fair share of beating me as well of course.
Reminder: Surround yourself with likeminded people (People of Quality)
