This aphorism from Unto the Last, a small lecture of 50 Pages that inspired even Ghandhi and made him completely change his life and start writing after this (available for reading on the link), asks us to examine not what we accumulate, but how we live. If life is a book, what chapters would you treasure most? What memories, connections, and experiences give your book purpose, value?
Throughout history, we’ve seen countless reminders that material wealth is fleeting. Consider Alexander the Great, whose vast empire couldn't follow him to the afterlife. He famously ordered that his hands be left dangling out of his coffin, symbolizing the truth that we leave the world with nothing but the legacy of our actions.
Reflecting on Ruskin's words, I wish I could read more, I could write more, a big part of wealth for me is learning, connecting dots, building my imagination but also in:
