Day 15 - answers flexibility

Day 15 - answers flexibility

In the previous days you learnt the basics of data analysis with #SpeedOfThought and also went to a slightly higher level using the keyword vs. Door number 15 hides something astonishing. Something that could only be created by a team of mad people who are also data freaks. You will see for yourself that asking ThoughtSpot has no limits and you can get an answer to any of them. And by the way, you won't spend energy and time on advanced formulas and you will do it just like that. Are you ready for the next part of the #ThoughtSpotAdventCalendar?

You already know that you can compare the same attribute for different options and also different attributes. What if we combined attributes with each other and started comparing different attributes combinations? Such a simultaneous comparison, combining conditions and setting up filters. It just sounds scary and all you really have to do is remember to cover all vs instructions with one bracket. Take a look at an example. I want to see the quantity of a s-size classic pizza (condition 01) with the sales of a supreme pizza in December (condition 02).

Absolutely brilliant. Even if this question has no basis of validity it is still full of admiration how simply something like this can be done. Can you imagine a business user with such capabilities? Can you see how many insights he will be able to generate on his own? Let's extend our comparison to include Monday's quantity, but only for pizza sizes m and l. Simply add next condition inside the brackets.

Shocking. This is what #SpeedOfThought is all about. Let's break down our analysis into the days of the week. Let's add day of week, but outside bracket.

By the way, you can see that the result of the last condition only appeared for Monday which confirms the veracity of the results.

Think again what a business user who knows best what he wants to ask can do with ThoughtSpot. It is powerful and impressive. See you tomorrow.
