In sales, prospects or customers don't just buy the present but mainly the future. Meaning what the future potentially holds. Translation? For them to say YES today, you have to show them an exciting future of tomorrow.
That calls for piling and stacking as much pleasure as possible into their future. Take them to a better a future. Transport them there now. Let them see how their life will be better. Show them how their career will be more exciting. Demonstrate how their health will be invigorating. How their business will be thriving. How their relationship will be enchanting. This is to have planted seeds of closing the sale in a much easier way.
Effective leaders, persuaders, influencers and sales professionals know this hidden secret.
This is how you can apply it. Whatever you are selling, ask yourself these particular questions…
What are the ultimate logical and emotional benefits that my product or service provides to the prospect/customer?
How can I paint a vivid and compelling future of all the good and exciting benefits that my product or service delivers?
For example, let's just say you are selling a fashionable outfit that someone is considering buying, you could say…
Imagine appearing at an occasion and all heads are turning towards you because of your elegant presence and appearance
Imagine how wonderful you will feel looking at yourself in the mirror before leaving your home
Imagine the sense of confidence and self-assurance you will feel while stepping out of your car and gliding across the hallway with purpose because of you knowing that you are looking your best
This would make the sales experience more exciting, isn't it? If well-crafted in the right context to the right prospect, you automatically boost your chances for success.
Now, this is not the only strategy which you can use but definitely one which will enhance whatever you are currently using to move prospects to a yes. Use it, you will thank me later.
