Day 14 ~ Reflecting by the River

Day 14 ~ Reflecting by the River

Ecclesiastes 7:10 ~ Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions?

Sometimes pondering is a good thing. It brings back memories lost in the chaos of everyday life. Good and bad. I can remember the years of my past, some like it was yesterday. Some are just buried deep within my life for many reasons. Some resurface reminding me never journey that path in life again. Some are just too stubborn to leave. Some are bringing excitement to live within today. Some are encouraging my life to dream into the future.?

Some are not all. Some have been forgotten, pushed aside, released, let go, never to resurface. Some have embedded harshness, bitterness, resentment, fear. Some are everlasting, never to leave, never be forsaken, never be abandoned. Some are living abundantly within our heart, our mind, our soul. Within the very inner-core of our thriving life.? All the some's are serving a purpose within our life. Not necessarily for yesterday, today, or tomorrow. But to teach, enrich, and bring focus to everyday life.?

Take some time and rekindle those precious some's floating with purpose. Think hard and remember what they were, what they served, what they achieved. Think deeper and remember faces, places, things. Think even deeper yet and remember what has steered, influenced, motivated, and stimulated where our life is today.? The good old days are not really the good old days. Days came and went 10, 20, 30 years ago, some even more, forever gone, forever in the past, forever left behind.? So what are the good old days. What is bringing living value to our life. What is serving purpose to live hopefully. What is motivating our daily lifestyle. What is triggering love within our heart, thoughts within our mind, everlasting life within our soul.?

The good old days serve purpose to enrich what the ways of this world attempts to permanently remove. Things like intimacy of family, friendships, relationships. Things like generation-to-generation life-changes. Things like family traditions, family heritage, family values, family beliefs. Within this day lives yesterday, tomorrow, our future, and everlasting life. Within this day lives the good old days yet to come, yet to arrive, yet to be fulfilled. The good old days are thriving to come alive.?

Let's remember not to get lost in yesterday's past and miss life within today. Let's remember not to forget the hard lessons learned and repeat destructive disasters.? Let's remember our past is serving a purpose to live hopefully. Let's remember moments will come and go seemingly at ease. Let's remember where we came from, where our life is headed, where real life comes from. Let's remember Christ Jesus lived yesterday, today, forever. Let's remember the Holy Spirit is dwelling for the good old days to come alive. Let's remember Abba Father has intimate control of all the good old days.?

The sacrificial cross is serving purpose for the resurrection. The excruciating pain for the healing of brokenness. The unjust mocking’s for undeserved grace. The inflicted beating for forgiveness. The empty tomb for the good old days yet to come alive. Our life might live among a world of brokenness, but our life lives within a world of promises. A world thriving with everlasting life coming from heaven above. A world of hopefulness breathing protective promises to never leave us, never forsake us, never abandon us. Promises cleansing, redeeming, and restoring sinfulness. Our good old days are actively coming alive. Let's live wisely remembering our past, but live striving for the good old days. Let's remember to live our discipleshipping boldly, courageously, fearlessly engaging the good old days coming alive within God the Father ~ God the Son ~ God the Holy Spirit ~ Amen ...
