Day 128 - Mental chatter cheats your dreams (1,000 days content creation challenge)

Yesterday, my coach and mentor alerted me that he could tell I was quiet. No mental chatter unlike most times when he has engaged with me.
Some people call it the monkey mind. I am talking about the endless self-talk inside the head. I have been a victim many times. Looking back, I can attest to the following…
Mental chatter means there is no clear communication line to receive divine guidance and as such some opportunities are missed while problems may not be avoided.
Decision making is not as sharp because of the noise in the head.
There is a lot of energy spent to keep the endless thoughts running which is expensive
What is the solution then?
Finding a way to quieten the mind. Find a way that works for you.
Yesterday evening, I was chatting with a coaching client and she talked about how she started counting from 100 to 1 every morning. Apparently it works in a sense that the mind is focused on something else other than thinking.
It could be focusing on your breath as much as possible.
It could be choosing to be in the present moment as often as possible
Either way, find something that works for you. Something that switches off the mental chatter however brief that may be and then find a way to elongate the opportunity of a quiet mind.
From the space of a quiet mind, lots of dreams can be created because of enhanced clarity. From mental chatter, the dreams are lost because of the chaos. Make a choice my friend.
