Day 124 - Not every distraction deserves your attention (1,000 days content creation challenge)

Day 124 - Not every distraction deserves your attention (1,000 days content creation challenge)

Recently, I was talking to some senior 6 candidates to help them prepare for their final exams successfully. One lady asked me a question and I started answering. Then, somehow, one of her colleagues started talking to her which divided her attention.

I remember telling her not to let minors become her majors because the person she was listening to did not have the answer she was looking for. And that's the typical drama of life because there are many distractions.

The question is, do those distractions deserve your attention? I bet some do and some don't. So, you have to be very discerning in your choices because your choice will determine the outcomes of whatever experience you may be involved in.

So, next time, when a distraction pops up in your space, ask yourself - does this deserve my attention or not?

If it does, great. If it doesn't, then, switch gears towards that which deserves your attention. This requires discipline but the good news is that it will be worth it.

It might be cliche but it's true that average people major in minors and successful people major in majors.

Which camp are you choosing to be part of in the long haul?
