Day 12: From Hub to Rascals - The Unconventional Pivot

It's Day 12 of our digital marketing agency's metamorphosis, and the plot thickens. Our journey, akin to a sitcom where the underdog aims for the stars, has taken a turn that even we didn't see coming. Let's dive into the latest episode of 'As the Digital World Turns.'

Act 1: The Quest for a Domain

Our quest for a new identity started with the high hopes of christening ourselves 'Design Hub' - a name that was supposed to herald our arrival as the central beacon of creativity and innovation in the digital marketing realm. It was not to be. Every variation of 'Design Hub' in the domain universe was taken, probably by squatters who couldn't design their way out of a paper bag but had the foresight to hoard domain names. How dare they? :-)

So, after much deliberation, we took a path less traveled. Drumroll, please... We are now 'Design Rascals.' Yes, you read that right. Not 'Hub,' not 'Studio,' but 'Rascals.' It's irreverent, it's memorable, and most importantly, the domain was available. Take that, domain squatters! And thank you, Nicole Wlasichuk !

Why 'Design Rascals,' you ask? In a world obsessed with buzzwords and jargon, we decided to embrace our inner cheekiness. We're the rascals shaking up the design world, bringing a fresh perspective to digital design - one that doesn't take itself too seriously. In an industry filled with 'synergies' and 'paradigm shifts,' we're here to bring back the human touch, with a little bit of mischief.

See the two illustrations by Alecsandra Micu below, for example. I asked her to create something that is both stylized and somewhat strange. She is talented!



Act 2: A Cliffhanger on the Personal Front

Now, for the juicy bit. We have some great news to share about our team - news so good it deserves its own drumroll. But in true cliffhanger fashion, we've decided to hold off until later this week. The anticipation is killing us, and we're pretty sure it's got you on the edge of your seat, too. The only person who knows is Belle (pictured below), and she is keeping mum.

Speculate away. Is it a groundbreaking hire? A lottery win that we're reinvesting into the business? A team member discovered they're the long-lost heir to a digital empire? While we can neither confirm nor deny these wildly imaginative theories, we promise it's worth the wait. So, keep your eyes peeled and your feeds refreshed.


Act 3: Embracing Our New Identity

Transitioning from 'Design Hub' to 'Design Rascals' wasn't just about settling for an available domain; it was about embracing an identity that truly reflects who we are. We're not your run-of-the-mill design agency. We're the rascals - playful, innovative, and a little bit unconventional. Our strategies aren't pulled from the same old playbook used by every other agency out there. We're writing our own rules, mixing creativity with a dash of audacity.

As 'Design Rascals,' we're committed to delivering the same great value and clarity in our services, but with an added layer of fun and creativity. We believe that design doesn't have to be a drab, all-business affair. It can be engaging, exciting, and even a little bit cheeky. After all, in a world where consumers are bombarded with content every waking moment, a little rascality might just be the breath of fresh air they're looking for.
