Why I Need To Thank My Enemies?
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44)
Gratitude is supposed to make you happier, live longer, lose weight, poverty-stricken people are happier than affluent people because they feel thankful for what they have, etc.
Well kind of true, Right? We all should thank our friends and family for supporting us and staying by our side during the hardest days of our lives.
But friends, I feel that enemies deserve more of our blessings because they are the ones to treat us BADLY, they are the ones who are unfair to us, yet they are the ones who bring out the best in us. Their harsh behavior towards us makes us realize our potential and look at the same task differently. They will tell you your faults.
They can be your colleagues in an office, classmates in college/school, your boss, teachers/professors etc.
Pity opens the door to compassion. Compassion unlocks the floodgate to gratitude. And gratitude isn’t a place, but a road to insight, a fuel for all inspiration, all creativity, all productivity.
Enemies serve a great purpose in our lives. They are like the chosen evils of our life. They plan evil against you and somehow you manage to survive this and you end up getting stronger.
The bitter medicines in our lives are given to us by our enemies, not friends, sure they are by your side every now and then. But do you really think that we need our friends if we don’t have enemies? Well This one’s a thinker, isn’t it?
To have bitter people in our lives is a must. They push us over the edge and really help us. They help us build our foundation stronger and make us realize the small details in our lives.
Also they are the ones who know that we can do better in our lives. So don’t hate them instead LEARN from them.
EXERCISE NUMBER 11
EVERY ENEMY IS JUST A FRIEND WAITING TO BE CONVERTED
Love your enemies because you can relax when you stop fighting them.
Pray for them, bless them and want the best for them. Remember that everything you give comes back, and what you sow germinates and produces!
Thank your enemies because they’ll carry you to greater clarity, illuminate what was previously darkened and show you the way through. All you have to do is be open to hitching a ride.
You can Kill your enemies only with success and bury them with a smile on your face, and say Thank you to them with a sincere blessing!
So, try to love your enemies.
CONVERT YOUR ENEMIES WITH YOUR EXAMPLES AND TRAITS
It’s easy to try to convert people with our words. This is how most people try to spread the truth. This is all well and good; however, if you’re dealing with people that hate you, one of the most effective ways to convert is by example.
When you show respect to somebody, human nature’s tendency to reciprocity means that they will respect you back. When you show them good deeds, they will respond with good deeds back. That’s how you convert, through examples.
The good news is that you’re not alone in doing this. Because if you were truly alone and you were drawing on your own human power, it’s not going to happen. The human tendency is to push back when people push against you.
When people slap you on one cheek, human nature dictates that your slap them back. It’s not to turn the other cheek. So, the good news is that you have the power of Jesus in your heart through the Holy Spirit that you can draw on, and always remember you’re doing this because you love Jesus.
Maybe “enemies” are a necessary “evil” – how we react to them can mean the difference between crushing defeat and our best work.
I hope I can put my adversaries in perspective as I move forward – rather than push them away – embrace and bless them as a force for positive transformation.
WE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE !!
