Day 103 - They are after your attention & giving them your attention means you are not paying attention to your dreams (1,000 days content challenge)

Let's see if you can relate to some of the scenarios I have gone through.
You are working on an important project on your computer only to see a pop-up message that catches your attention and you pause the work project.
You are brainstorming some ideas on a challenge you have only to receive a phone call that diverts your attention and trajectory.
You are having quality time with your spouse or children only for a neighbour to come and start chatting you up. Before long, the flow of your family conversation is dramatically disrupted.
You are staring at a blank page and wondering what you should write only for someone to come to your office and ask - "can I have a minute of your time?". Since it's a minute, you say yes only to find that 30 minutes later, you are still engrossed in the conversation and wondering - "what did I sign up for?"
The common theme in all the above scenarios and other related instances is this…
Someone, some people are scheming for your attention and they have a right to do that. Unfortunately, lending them your attention sometimes means that you are not paying attention to you and your dreams.
You and I need to be sensitive and selective as to where we are investing our attention because there is only one of you.
One life to live
Better to live it well
And that means allocating your attention well.
