NOTE: Many thanks to Anthony Ball & Sarah Correll for calling me into the 20-day challenge and helping increase suicide awareness while instilling positive mental health habits.
?? Today, I'm grateful for the 80s! ??
?? I am a child of the 80s and a kid from Jersey. Best decade EVER and the best place in the US to grow up (in the 80s). The music, the hairstyles, the fads, the technologies, the Jersey Shore…We laugh at some of it now, but looking back, it was the best of times. Childhood was easy. Any boredom could simply be fixed by a quick question:
(Jersey accent inserted here) “Yew wanna do somet’in’?†(Translation: You want to do something?)
???? The answer was always YES and, as kids, we found ways to do something. Grab a stick and a rock and invent a game. Hop on our bikes and head to the local park. Whatever it was, we found a way to solve the problem of boredom by going out and doing something.
?? I am forever grateful for the 80s. The family/friends I had shaped my world and helped me become the person I am today. Meanwhile, the question that solved everything back then evolved into an adult behavior: Problem? Do Something.
?? So…When it comes to supporting our Veterans and suicide awareness, I ask… “Yew wanna do somet’in?â€
???? 20-Day Challenge: Publish a post, article, or video on 1 thing you are grateful for. Do this for 20 consecutive days to help spread awareness. Actively change minds of those around us and work on our mental fitness to prevent suicide and isolation. You make a difference!
