Day 1 - IMM Cologne 2020
Wow, I was literally blown away today!
What an amazing experience to attend imm cologne!
Creative designs, attention to detail, unique atmosphere, passionate professionals, international crowd, etc. everything was there!
8 Trends at imm cologne
I first attended Frank A. Reinhardt's presentation. As consultant & expert in the furniture and design industry, he shared his own analysis of 2020's major trends at imm cologne. According to him, "all people want in 2020 is to have a better living". In other words, people want:
- A more natural living
- A greener living
- A smarter living
- A more efficient living
- A more comfortable living
- A more limitless living
- A more colourful living
- A more decorative living
For each of these 8 key trends, he gave examples of the new product launches, innovations and fashion he has already spotted among the exhibitors. Following the key note, Frank took us to a guided tour of the whole place. We were then able to realise the main trends and novelties he was previously talking about. He spoke in German and live English translation was conducted. To have a quick and broad overview of the trade fair and the best spots to go, I really recommend his shows!
My Favourite Brand
I have visited mainly Halls 11 & 3 as I was fascinated by the impressive and authentic German crafts and the refined and extravagant Italian furniture designs. My favourite experience wholeheartedly remains brühl & sippold GmbH (Hall 11.2). When I got into brühl's space, I felt good: warm and assorted colours, swinging music, broad collections, friendly reception. Definitely a must see!
