Day 1, 2022

Today (17-Aug-22) is my Day 1 at AWS. I am completing my 2nd year as the Engineering Leader of the Customer Success Engineering Team (CSET) with AWS. The CSET team started as an experimental and advisory team a few years ago. Today, we are a small but a mighty team of 15. Mighty because of the tremendous impact we are having on our customers and the overall business. I am blessed to be working with an amazing and gifted team!

Working at AWS has made me realize why vulnerability is actually a good feeling. There is a famous quote that says “what makes you vulnerable makes you beautiful”. Everyday I realize how much I don’t know and I am amazed with the talent that surrounds me.

The cumulative effect of all the above is that it pushes me to become the best of me.

That said, I am also a big believer in looking back at the journey I took so I know where to go next. Some of what my team and I have accomplished.

• The team grew by 40%.
• Build our builders. An opportunity to make an impact with 4 tech promotions on my team across different job families (Business Intelligence, Data Sciences and Technical Program Management).
• Our continued momentum around trust building with several partner teams across AWS. A reflection of our belief around partnership and collaboration over competition.
• An undeterred focus on projects that will create repeatable, scalable mechanisms to drive best of our intentions.
• A comprehensive Operational Planning strategy for FY’23 to help shape the future of CSET.
• A featured team in the monthly business update not once but twice where we shared insights on our Customer Success stories.

The highlights I captured above might sound simple, transactional and business as usual for many of you. But, it's a big deal for me so nothing wrong in celebrating it. :)

Lastly, on a personal note I am elated about the positive impact I have had with the LinkedIn community with few of my posts and blogs. It’s an opportunity to continue doing what I believe in and give it back to the community.
