Today is day 08 of the #ThoughtSpotAdventCalendar. We will stay on the theme of dates and more specifically focus on the smallest part of it, the day. In ThoughtSpot you can use this part in various ways. Let's open door number 08.
The easiest way to generate analysis based on days is to add the phrase daily to the command.
As you can see, the result is an analysis in which the unit of time is the day. If the date field contained time in addition then all calculations would be grouped by day.
If we wanted to treat the day differently, as a day of the week then we should use the keywords... day of week. What a surprise, isn't it? Note once again how much working with ThoughtSpot is like talking to an analyst.
As you can see, the date has been converted to Monday, Tuesday, etc. By the way, you can take a look at how to change the chart type to area and how this changes the presentation of the data.

Depending on your needs, you may wish to look at the data in a different perspective and use day of month, day of quarter or day of year.
Let's try to use the information we have learned and prepare an answer to the question: on which days were the highest sales in each month. Hint: try using a heatmap chart.
In this way, we performed another analysis with the #SpeedOfThought. It is easy to read the day of the week on the horizontal axis and the months on the vertical axis. The intersection shows the quantities and the additive colour scale makes it easy to find the largest and smallest values.
This is what I like most in ThoughtSpot . The speed with which you can look at the #data. Another door to open tomorrow.
