Would you let AI recruit your talent?

The Recruitment industry has been in a verbal war of attrition, "human's vs machine's" for years with 2 dominating sides.
- Futurists predicting the end of recruitment agencies and the rise of AI (T-800) who will one day replace all of working humanity.
- Purists (the John Connor's of this world) advocating the irreplaceable, no matter how human like, "human touch" i.e empathy and emotional intelligence.
However something else has happened, research from Bullhorn, actually illustrates the combination of the two.
AI platform's that can aggregate millions of applications, streamline profiles based on specific parameters (utilising sophisticated tools such as gamification to understand cognitive abilities). Working hand in hand with that oh so vital human element, creating a process of hiring that is transparent, cost effective and HUGELY successful.
Job Board aggregators have been around for a while now. Since 2004 when Indeed were that helpful tool that gave you access to all the job ads on the web, within your specific criteria, for free! 14 years on they now have 200 million unique visits per month, in over 60 countries, kudos...
What I am fascinated about is the combination of internet scraping armed with sophisticated AI and Machine Learning, taking things to another level!
Platforms that allow candidates to apply, engage, watch, tweet, snap and poke any perspective employer to get their CV to the front of the queue. We see the dominance of LinkedIn, the unprecedented rise of Hired and the plucky upstarts looking to drive innovation.
I mean you know you are on to something when Google throw their hat into the ring!
"The challenge of connecting job seekers to better information on job availability is like many search challenges we’ve solved in the past." - Google CEO Sundar Pichai
Bold statement from a technology behemoth, the thing is they probably will, some of us believe they've won already...time will tell...
The beauty comes from being the best of both worlds, the ability to adapt, to evolve, to able to maintain knowledge and experience, the spirit of classic 360 recruitment.
Supported by the mechanical precision of AI, the tireless resourcer who never sleeps and will get better and faster with every new piece of data they accumulate.
It's not about one replacing the other, but both being able to thrive in a market open and ready for innovation.
