The Dawn of AI-Powered Applications: Exploring the Potential of ChatGPT, Midjourney, and DALL-E

Greetings, LinkedIn community!

I feel like everyone is talking about AI. If you are looking for great insights, then I'd suggest Steve Sloan , former co-worker, who encapsulated where we are in the introduction of this new technology. Or Ethan Mollick , we went to camp together, who is going deep into how to use these tools to improve education and personal productivity. This is not such a think-piece, as I think others have already expressed my own opinions more thoroughly. Instead of working on a several thousand word essay, I wrote code...

Today, I'm excited to share with you my latest tinkering with AI agents like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and DALL-E. These revolutionary technologies are still in their infancy. As the tools become more accessible, we're starting to get a glimpse of the potential business models and applications they can enable. I've been experimenting with a few projects that showcase the possibilities, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

One of my recent projects, ShopGPT24.com, demonstrates how AI technology can be utilized to create highly knowledgeable chatbots for e-commerce stores. This platform allows users to "talk" to a store's inventory, asking questions about products, usage, or general store knowledge. You can think of it like that first web page you saw in 1994 that overused the <blink> HTML tag. Imagine walking into a specialty boutique and conversing with an informed salesperson – that's the level of expertise you can expect from ShopGPT. For instance, you can inquire about pickleball rules, get paddle recommendations based on your experience, or learn about different types of paddle cores. If you have an online shop that you'd like to try on my system, leave a comment below, I'm always looking for new shops with interesting products and I'm tired of talking about Pickleball.

ShopGPT24.com explaining how pickleball paddles have cores and then giving out links to where you can buy a paddle.

In addition to ShopGPT24.com, I've built a voice-enabled model that connects users to a large language model (LLM) via phone. By calling the number, you can interact with the LLM using text-to-speech capabilities. If you're interested in giving it a try, feel free to reach out, and I'll provide the phone number via direct message. This ends comically more often than not. The Speech to Text model that I'm uses often gets confused by what you say over the phone, so inquiries like "I would like to buy a dress for my wife" get interpreted as "I would like the address for my wife", and then retail comedy ensues.

As we all continue to explore the capabilities of AI agents like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and DALL-E, I'm eager to hear your feedback on my projects or what else you are seeing. I'm also interested in learning about other ideas for simple projects that can leverage LLM's capabilities or create novel user interactions. Your input and collaboration will undoubtedly help shape the future of AI-driven applications.

Looking forward to your thoughts and ideas!
