Davis Demographics Celebrates 30-year Partnership with Esri

Davis Demographics is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. That is 30 years of partnering with school districts across North America to plan for students to have safe, effective, and predictable learning environments.

One of the most critical pieces to our success has been our partnership with Esri . GIS is the heart of all our work and enables us to tell stories with data that have never been told before. Charlie Frye from Esri has been quoted as saying “a good map teaches you to ask a better question.” ?These better questions lead to better decision-making and, ultimately, better outcomes for students.

If you don’t recognize the man in the middle of the photo, that is Esri Founder Jack Dangermond. In late 2022, he took time out of his busy schedule to meet with our team at the Esri headquarters in Redlands, California. The goal: To plan how we can work together more closely to use new and exciting tools from Esri to impact education using GIS.

This extraordinary opportunity before us was also made possible by Davis’ combination with MGT in 2022. As part of MGT, we now have new resources and new colleagues with a wide array of skills and experience that let us take our planning to the next level. As we have started to work together, it is clear that we can do far more to impact education than either of us could have done apart. 2023 will be a big year for MGT (formerly Davis Demographics) .
