Datta Guru blesses us in various forms

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
Each one of us likes to think good things about himself/herself. Everyone thinks he/she is not selfish. Even when people do rituals told to them by brahmins for certain materialistic gains or health purposes, even then they don’t accept that they are selfish. People keep on asking God for this or that thing and still everyone claims to be selfless. People are indulged in desires from head to toe, still they think they are spiritual seekers. This is the reason why people keep on waiting for a true Guru in their lives but He never comes. People befool themselves with fake gurus and these fake gurus keep on befooling them.
This is why normally people don’t get the right Guru and don’t go to the right path. You’ll find as true of a Guru as true you are. Suppose you have materialistic desires, in that case you’ll find a guru who‘ll have even more materialistic desires. Suppose you are selfish, in that case you’ll find a guru who is even more selfish. If you are a buyer of God, you are bound to meet a seller of God in the form of your guru. If you are above materialistic desires, understand desires not needs, then you’ll find a Guru who’ll be above materialistic desires. If you are selfless then your Guru too will be selfless. If you are a true disciple then you are sure to find a true Guru.
Most of us want to create a balance in life
For example, Bill Gates is known for creating Microsoft and the money which followed Microsoft. Does anyone know what is his spiritual level ? No.. Because he was only interested in technology and it is perfectly fine. Take another example, Ram, we know him because Ram killed Ravan , the symbol of misrule and an inflated ego. We know Ram because he defined the ideal conduct of a king. This is why he is called Maryada Purushottam. He was also married and had kids. He was rich also because He was a king. But had he been indulged in his wife and kids and other luxuries which money can provide, would we have been remembering His name today ? No…
So the point is, this balance which we keep looking for our entire lives doesn't exist. If you want to progress in anything then you must be unidirectional. This world is Maya/illusion and one can never escape from Maya because Maya itself is a form of Nature. How can one escape from it ? The target should be to not indulge in Maya/illusion all the while being surrounded by it. Whatever responsibilities you have must be fulfilled, be it your wife, kids, parents or your own. But indulgence in them will take you nowhere. I ask people to look inside first when I am asked about the spiritual path.
Above stated is the reason why I say so. Whosoever thinks he/she has this spiritual quest first must do an unbiased analysis of himself/herself

If you think you have a spiritual quest but you are unable to find the right Guru or meeting fake gurus then analyse yourself unbiasedly first. It means that you are still not ready to meet the right person. The problem is not with the Nature and the Guru, the problem is with you. Analyse yourself and correct yourself, when you’ll be done with that, The Guru will meet you. If you analyse yourself and realise that you seriously have a spiritual quest then be rest assured the Nature will help you. Your mentor or your Guru will enter into your life at the right time.
By mentor I mean the person who’ll take you to your Guru. You may meet him anywhere. I met my mentor at a drinking session. Now it doesn't happen by chance, you may think so but it never happens this way. Any higher soul will enter into your life at a time which is predestined by Nature. Now having met him doesn't mean that he’ll take you as his disciple or he will simply take you to your Guru. It doesn't work this way. He will test you for years before telling you a thing about sadhana. It is your preparation period
There is no guarantee again that He’ll take you as a disciple. That will solely depend upon your conduct during this preparation period. If you fail to reach His standards, He’ll simply not tell you anything. Understand one thing. to become a true disciple you should have Shishya Bhaav/ Disciple state of mind in you. Once you reach this state only then you’ll be able to understand Guru Bhaav/ Guru state of mind. Guru will be your mother, father, teacher, God everything. If Guru says jump into the well then you must jump into the well without giving it a second thought. This is called complete surrender. This is called Shishya Bhaav/ disciple state of mind. It may sound weird but it is true. You can never learn anything unless you reach this state of mind.
It takes years if not decades and lives to reach at this level. Only after you reach at this level you can actually go for real sadhanas. But the real sadhana is completely different from what people have heard about it. People keep on repeating mantras for whole of their lives but nothing happens to them. If a true sadhana is given to you by a worthy Guru then it will shake the core of you in no time. You’ll not imagine things or dream about them, things will start happening to you right in front of your eyes. In start it’ll scare you and will test you again according to its own standards, if you have complete devotion
Even if you have desires and have an inclination towards spirituality, even then there is no problem. Keep on analysing yourself and correcting yourself and one day you’ll move beyond them. When the seeker is ready, the Guru comes…it is as simple as that…And this is most important to know, understand and remember….Guru need not, need not, come in physical form…but when Guru wills it, and when you are ready, you will sense the presence…The external Guru is just one aspect of the Guru Tattwa…the Guru is outside and inside you…and you, in fact, are not different from the Guru….except that you have imposed on yourself the illusion that you are not the Guru…you are different…you are a disciple, you are weak, you are not pure….The water drop is as much water as the ocean - in fact there is no difference between the water molecule and all the water of this universe….
The Guru will guide you on the path and the Sadhana as needed…what is needed is faith and willingness to open your mind, get rid of your illusions and inhibitions and false ideas of your true nature….that is what true Yoga means, what surrender means…what self realisation
