Dating as a single parent

Speaking from personal experience, dating as a parent versus dating before I became a parent is a different landscape. For a lot of single parents it can feel scary getting back out there. As a single parent dating, there is more to consider, as we are not just seeking someone who who is a compatible fit for ourselves - we also have to think about who is suitable and worthy of potentially being in our kids lives too.?

We asked our community of 40k single parents what their experience of using the traditional dating apps as a single parent are.The responses were far from uplifting and the main threads of feedback were the following:?

?? Kids being referred to as ‘baggage’?

?? Not being sure whether to mention you have kids or if it will go against you?

?? If you don’t mention it then there’s the awkwardness of bringing it up and risking being ghosted if the person you have matched with isn’t interested in dating a single parent

With this in mind, our community pleaded with us to create single parent dating offering so that us single parents could have a dedicated space of our own to have a safe, respectful and mindful dating experience. So we listened and we asked some more, and we gathered insights and feedback from our community, related from everything to safety and security preferences, to user experience and filter settings, to what price point they would be comfortable with.
