'We'll Pay You In Exposure'...

After causing a stir by?hiring a camel to promote their business?in central London a few weeks ago, Thursday strike again by asking the creative community to?create an Ad for them in return for exposure?(the comments are brilliant).

On another note, seeing people implementing the advice we share is next-level exciting. Hats off to?Haydn Morgans?for implementing our no-email-proposal-strategy.

Thought for the day:?Sending cheese in the post isn't a good marketing strategy (more on this below).

In other news...

- I'm so, so, so proud of our team this week. I know you probably don't care, but I had to share this with you. They worked tirelessly on one of our most ambitious projects to date & honestly, from what I've seen so far it looks amazing. I feel like a proud father.

Thought for the day:?Sending cheese in the post isn't a good marketing strategy

A while ago we started to receive cheese in the post (this is a real story, not a made up LinkedIn one).

Each week, we received a new piece of cheese with some sort of clue.

As the weeks went on, and the lukewarm, slightly mashed up cheese kept coming in the post, we were a bit confused.

Who was sending us cheese in the post?

Well, we eventually found out when the final piece of cheese came with a small bottle of wine & a note.

It was an IT company and the cheese in the post was an interesting lead generation campaign they were running.

Now, I genuinely applaud them for trying something new.

Marketing is all about testing & this looked like an interesting approach to test.

But it didn’t work.

One of the reasons it didn’t work is that we didn’t need support from an IT company.

But when we do need an IT company, it’s highly unlikely we’d go with them as we already have better relationships with other IT companies.

The reason this didn’t work is because sending cheese in the post hasn’t helped form any kind of relationship & trust with us.

What could have worked and got us to work with them when we needed an IT company?

Implementing an unscalable Marketing strategy.

What is an unscalable Marketing strategy?

We reveal all in our?latest Business Anchors podcast episode.

Weekly Competition

Congrats to?Alice Lyons?for winning this week's competition! Please reply to this with your address & your wine colour of choice (or if you'd like a business book instead).

I've decided to stop the weekly competition until further notice.

Happy Friday!! ??
