When we seek relationships without taking the time to get to know ourselves and enjoy our own company, we make it difficult to be truly happy.
Nobody knows what we want better than ourselves and when we don't explore and just expect someone else to guess, we're setting ourselves up for failure and disappointment.
As dynamic beings, we're always changing. Things that used to serve us no longer do and we can find ourselves interested in things we didn't care about before. Taking the time to reassess who and where we are in life will help us to recognize the pathway for our best interest.
When you "date yourself," you spend time essentially getting to know yourself again with the same curiosity and intrigue as if going on a date.
Have fun learning who you have become
If you've been passionate about music, explore if that creative bone enjoys dabbling in other artistic outlets as well like painting or pottery, for example.
Stumbling upon a new exciting hobby triggers an exciting and intriguing new entrance in your life, while simultaneously building appreciation for your natural abilities and passions.
Treat yo'self
In dating yourself, do nice things to pamper yourself for no special occasion other than mindful nurturing self-care.
This helps builds a sense of value, like adding coins to your self-love piggy bank, and builds a practice of being kind to yourself with genuine compassion.
Explore and set your personal standards
Give yourself a full body massage. Learn what feels good and what doesn't. This:
Showcase your personality
Dress to impress yourself for no reason. Being intentional with how you express yourself impacts how you feel about yourself. Instead of looking outwardly for how to express yourself to the world, go inward.
Think of all the things you love about yourself... moods, hobbies, accomplishments. With these in mind, put them all together using my free CityZen Trendsetter 101 course and feel confident in your skin and clothes wherever you go.
Go on... "Wear your heart on your sleeve."
