Hey girl, hey! Listen, it doesn't matter if it's a first date or date number 500 (yes I really tried to just multiply 20 years of being with my guy and averaging about how many dates a year we go on). You still want to look, feel and smell (ooh la la) your best!
Here are my go-tos to make YOU fall in love with yourself because we all know, you gotta be head over heels into yourself before you can give the hottie you're with the best you!
First thing on the list is throw the idea out the door that your hair needs to be done at a blow out bar and your makeup has to look like that 22 year old on Instagram who packs on entirely too much contoured concealer & dusts so much highlighter that it makes the glazed donut come to life on her face. This is coming from your pro makeup artist friend here, let's not forget ;). NEWS ALERT! Guys could care less about that crap! They want to see YOU and they certainly do not need traces of Sephora's best selling contour palette all over their shirt when you hug them or ...ahem...their pillow later that night.
Let's start with the morning of your date. Get yourself a nice perfect glow with Rodan+Fields Essentials Foaming Sunless Tanner for a hint of color to give you a fresh look. Drink lots of water throughout the day as well! Now, it's mere hours before your date! Let the self indulgence begin!
Blow out your own hair! See a great tutorial here. Trust me, you can do this. Put a volumizer in the roots and get to blowing! Section the hair, roundbrush it and blow lady! Want a few beach waves? Check out my other tutorial here.
For the makeup routine:
Let it be known, I HATE foundation (so does he!) Use a tinted SPF Skincare formula! It's awesome, blurs imperfections, remains lightweight & gives you the perfect "hello baby" glow! My favorite by far is R+F Radiant Defense.
Pop a little blush on. This has been my favorite all year,
Prime the eye lids with UD Primer Potion in color Minor Sin. I will slap this on and not even have to add shadow!
Next throw on mascara! (Yup, I skipped eyeliner. I don't even use it anymore because my lashes are so long now thanks to Lash Boost ) .
Give your lips a glossy pout with Lip Renewing Serum and BAM! Sexy momma!
Last but not least throw on a sexy perfume! My favorite for years has been La Vie Est Belle from Lancome I also love getting a good roller ball to throw in my purse if you don't want to buy a whole bottle. The most recent one I've tried and fell in love with is Este Lauder's Bronze Goddess . To me, a sexy perfume will be infused with warm notes like amber, sandalwood, tuberose, and just a tad on the heavier scented side. Save the "summer notes" like citrus, fruity, fresh, flower for daytime and spring/summer.
Now go out and have some fun!
xo,
P
