"The art of analyzing data is never an easy task. We run with huge amounts of data. Firms do invest in sourcing the best people and tools to ensure that the report that they create using the help of a tool has a clear impact"
To answer all your queries…
Let me introduce a tool named “Google Data Studio”
Data Studio is similar to other tools too and you can just log in with your simple Gmail id. You don't need any software or specific system requirements. All you need is minimum internet speed**(conditional apply)
Let me walk through the tool
Most of us might not have created our resumes from the scratch — which means we use a template and that template is been replaced by your needs.
You tend to change — sources to font, but still, you love to use the template
The reason for using the template is never a shortcut but a template gives an idea. It is a wireframe of your mode. Google data studio — as you open, we have reports(the reports which you have created), Data sources-where you can connect to different sources like Google analytics, bigquery, csv, spreadsheet.
The best part is about the tool is you can connect to as many as 569 sources which is really a big number and yes the template section. Once you select any template you can edit -rename and use as needed
You can create, change sources, add needed fields, add multiple pages, add different data sources in same project, change designs-borders-fonts, write some custom formulas where you can add 2 columns — what not. The tool is a heaven for anyone who would love master data visualization
I halt here before going more depth into the tool but would like to suggest before I end up
→ Is this tool secured? — Yes it is… An admin of the report can only grant access to others either to view edit or make changes
→ Will the changes reflect ASAP as soon as I edit or update my data from the backend? Yes. It update you do in backend is instant
→ Can we connect to data sets that are huge? Every huge data set in the world are backed by some cloud platform. Eg: You can connect to bigquery data source from this tool and bigquery does have loads of data powered by Google cloud
→ Is this a part of the Google cloud platform? Yes it is but that doesn't mean that you need to have a GCP account if you are connected to Google analytics or other sources
→ Is this tool free? Yes it is… anyone can use this
→ Data visualization is not a nightmare concept that you should be worried about. All you should do is think
→ To know more about data visualization and its need — do read my article “The art of data visualization”
→ Do I need someone's help to master this tool? No. You can start by yourself as you can read this tool. I do not even recommend any material or links as the tool is straightforward
→ Where can I get data to load? there are enough sources where you can get sample data.?https://data.world/?is one such place.
→ How your report looks like or how can you show the best report is purely dependent on the organization's needs and your thought process
I’m making this article simple to ensure that you can start with zero and for sure, you can master it with ease but please do not forget that its not reporting, its a recommendations which your report act as key points in showing the numbers. In fact you just need 4 bullet points to say what has to be done and that is needed for any firm
Thanks for reading and happy learning
