People started to feel like trapped in the time and place where they live.

Because concrete grey buildings, apartments which getting bigger everyday and whenever you need anything you need to walk kilometers to reach any service. Nobody likes it, isn’t it?

Big Cities means better opportunities, better chances but meanwhile it means big problems.

Among all these, Saudi Arabia is building a Compact Alternative City in the form of a line.

The Journey of Naming NEOM

Yes, you did not hear wrong. It’s a Line Shaped City, Saudi Arabia’s Project: NEOM. This resulted in the name “NEO MSTACBEL”. The Word MSTACBEL was abbreviated to M, reflecting two words: the first letter of the Arabic Word for future (mustaqbal) and also the first letter of the name of HRH, Prince “Mohammed” bin Salman. Also the letter “M” was merged with the word “NEO”, which means “New” in Greek, to make the final name NEOM.

Saudi Arabia aims to establish a New Wonder for World. This is why city is shaped like a line. Because they wanna make a show to world. Also it will be seen from Moon or close range space area.

Project planning started in 2016 and it is shared in 2021. Saudi Arabia aims to finish it in 2030 for 9 million residents. Main object is changing economy profit from petrol to tourism. Because petrol may end in future.

The Line City is 170km Length, 200m Width, 500m Height walls made from mirror and looks shiny from everywhere. It’s higher than Empire States and Eiffel Tower. Also they are solar panels which provides energy to city. From start of the Line City to end you can reach in 20 min with fast train.

Compact Line City

It’s a compact city, so what it brings? There will be no roads, no cars. Only High-Speed Trains for everywhere because whole city is Line shaped. Without it everywhere you need is only 5 minute away. Also it bring totally Autonomous Service Robots and Drones. Your every need will be met by robots. For example education, health, transportation, logistic and every service you need is in 5 minute.

While people living their own life, their every act is a new data. In a compact city, you can easily track and use it. There is too much thing to analyze when you gonna make a new World Wonder isn't it?
