Make America Great Again (MAGA) was a slogan used for Trump's last US presidential campaign.
This slogan is so powerful that during the last 2020 presidential campaign, it caused a riff and divisiveness among the country. And even now, MAGA is still being used to be a slogan for the next presidential election.
As an outsider, I don't have any political bias towards this slogan. I think the slogan is great. I think the US was and still is great. And if there was a time that it peaked in its greatness and the people wants to restore it to that peak of greatness, all the power to them.
Thus, to me, what's interesting about MAGA is that there are so many opinions as to what it means for the US to be "Great Again" even among the US citizens themselves. And as in a democratic society, everyone's perspectives and views should count as a vote. I think it'll be interesting to find out what is the best definition and/or definitions that reflect most, if not all the US citizens' perspectives and views, what it means for America to be Great Again.

Considering even voting who will become the next president is such an ordeal and even that, there were always a great number of people who chose not vote, I think collecting the data for this opinion from every US citizens will not be easy. However, with data science and the availability of the current technologies, this should be achievable.
So, what do you think? How can we achieve this using the current data science tools and technologies? Is it possible to get every US citizens' opinions and narrow it down to a single or a few definitions about what it means to make America to be great again?

1 年Strictly speaking from a linguistics perspective, nostalgia is a potent concept in marketing. I prefer a slogan I learned at Burning Man: “next year was better” https://youtu.be/suRDUFpsHus That said, the associated candidate was just found liable for sexual assault and faces dozens more cases of the same nature. I don’t think a country so complacement about mistreatment of half its citizens (women) is worth restoring to its former misogyny.
