????How do you organize your data team?
????What is FinOps and why is it so relevant in today's data world?
????How do you build your BI architecture in a way that serves both the business users and data scientists?
These are some of the questions that this episode of the Monday Morning Data Chat podcast touches upon.
??I listened to it when cleaning and had to pause many times to process what has been said and take notes (not sure how good of a job I did in cleaning, but hey, I got a lot of ideas noted down).
?? There were also a few times that I heard myself shouting YES, YES because I could not refrain myself from completely agreeing with some of the points.

Anyways, here are a few takeaways:
1?? data teams should be cross-disciplinary. In the past, it didn't work to have IT handle data-related queries without the involvement of the business. Neither does it work to keep data teams within the business areas.
2?? long gone are the times when business would make an IT-related request and then IT would figure a way to pay for it and get it approved by Finance. There should be a cross-collaboration between IT, finance and business. This will help prevent business requests that cannot be justified cost-wise because business units will need to pay for such requests and execution themselves.
3??measuring values that data architecture investments generate is hard, but it should be done. And it is something that should be agreed upon early on.
??Now go on and listen to this podcast episode and let me know if there are any other interesting takeaways that you'd add to my list. What has made you pause and think and take notes while listening to this episode?
