THE DATA PROMISE: A TALE OF TWO PROBLEMS AND ONE SOLUTION

Since the dawn of the 21 st century we live in what has been hailed as the information era, a unique moment in history where finally the truth can be at least inferred through technology, which has -at least in theory- provided us with the tools to capture, process and understand the information generated by our actions and of those around us.

Part of that premise is actually real, with modern organizations generating massive amounts of data as part of their operations that is more or less captured and stored through ERPs, CRMs and countless other enterprise solutions that have become ubiquitous across almost all industries. Paradoxically, it is common for these same organizations to lack the infrastructure or the tools to extract valuable information from this wealth of data, which leads them to a situation where -as in Plato’s Cave- they base their decisions on incomplete or even distorted sets of information that are far from being a truthful representation of reality.

One of the great impediments for enabling a sound data strategy tends to be the sheer complexity of designing and implementing the infrastructure and processes that it requires. But there is another aggravating circumstance that tends to go unnoticed: the tendency to treat each data-related requirements as individual, isolated projects within the same organization, which ends up creating overhead costs and unnecessary redundancies that deliver little to no value in the form of wasteful solutions that cannot scale to match the needs of their operators, much less of the entire organization.

Thus, when you match the inherent difficulties of implementing a data strategy with a subpar approximation to the problem, results are nothing but underwhelming. That is the pressing reality against which we have decided to act by crafting a data platform that allows organizations to build a cross-functional, coherent, and effective data strategy that can serve the multiple needs of a modern organization when it comes to data; that is the core proposition of Sidra Data Platform.

Sidra provides solutions for all relevant stakeholders

With our approximation, technical teams get the flexibility and resources needed to centralize and maintain the core data lifecycles of their organization with unprecedented easiness, integrating a myriad of sources upstream that can be then curated as they are offered downstream in controlled, governed domains that are ready to serve data where it is needed. It is here where the true value of Sidra lies, since with our approach dozens of differentiated teams can be provided with the datasets they need to deliver real, valuable insights that can be translated into actual business value for the organization and its key decision-makers.

But Sidra’s offer is not only limited to what it does, but how: not only our processes are highly automated and ready to use, meaning that what would usually take weeks or even months can be done in a matter of hours, but we also simplify the maintenance of those processes with solutions such as automated schema evolution, built-in validations engine, a comprehensive monitoring suit and easily configurable data domains that can be loaded with the data their need in a matter of minutes.

This is what a modern data platform ought to do, provide the framework to drastically accelerate the provisions of the data solutions modern organizations need. And that is what Sidra offers, providing visionary managers and capable teams with the tools they need to deliver on the promise of data as an enabler and facilitator of more rational, efficient decision making in the face of the growing challenges of today’s world.
