Data is only the beginning. Connecting the dots creates Knowledge. However, it is Wisdom which translates insights into impactful decisions

Data and life are always only the beginning. Reasoning and “connecting the dots” can transform data into information, knowledge, insights. However, it is human wisdom which translates insights into purpose-driven decisions, and actions are needed to have impact in our world and in our life.

Wisdom is one of those qualities that is difficult to define, because it encompasses so much, but which you generally recognize when you encounter it. Wisdom, with our decisions and our actions, which shape our destiny. Wisdom, which will become the most important skill in the world, especially in a world where Artificial Intelligence will empower us to achieve so much more, while at the same time AI will require from us our best wisdom, for creating a better world.

Wisdom involves the ability to integrate knowledge, experience, and deep understanding of our human soul. It incorporates tolerance for the uncertainties of life as well as its ups and downs, its moments of joy and its moments of sadness, its purpose and meaning.

There's an awareness of how things play out over time, in wisdom. A sense of appreciating of our time. Wise people generally share an optimism that life's problems can be solved and experience a certain amount of calm in facing difficult decisions. Intelligence, if only anyone could figure out exactly what it is, is important for wisdom, but it definitely is not sufficient. You need some ability to see the big picture, a sense of proportion, and considerable introspection, as well as lots of empathy.

Wisdom can be acquired only through experience, but by itself, experience does not automatically confer wisdom. You need some profound understanding of different lives, an awareness of the relativism of values and priorities, some insights into the parallel universes which we all have into our minds (and our hearts).

If you are seeking to develop wisdom, you may start with having compassion, a balance between yourself and others, and you may end up finding the true meaning of life.

Great read. Another key component of wisdom is the necessity to share said wisdom with others. I believe the true essence of wisdom is in the sharing of knowledge, experiences and understanding of key life lessons.
