dbt Labs Acquires SDF Labs
The company pitches?dbt Cloud as a kind of “data control plane” that’s designed to assist with every stage of the analytics development lifecycle. It’s compatible with various data warehouse platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks, and Google BigQuery.
Epiq Unveils AI Discovery Assistant
Without repeating workflows, the software connects information across data sets to form insights that could not have been discovered using natural language search within individual documents. Clients gain speed to knowledge, plus the ability to analyze up to 500,000 documents per hour.
Hydrolix Names Todd Persen as New CTO

Informatica Extends Partnership with Databricks
Informatica’s Native SQL ELT supports Databricks AI Functions through no-code data?pipelines, opening Databricks GenAI capabilities to no-code users. Databricks’ AI Functions enable customers to use GenAI capabilities,?including sentiment analysis, similarity matching, summary generation, translation and grammar correction on customer data directly from SQL.

The MariaDB database has been downloaded over a billion times and is used extensively across both small and large organizations across the globe.
Prophecy Raises $47 Million in Series B Extension Funding
The startup is the creator of what is believed to be the?first copilot for Databricks, using generative AI to?simplify and streamline the preparation of raw business data for AI applications and analytics workloads. Prophecy’s copilot makes corporate data, both structured and unstructured, easily accessible to users no matter where it’s located, be it in the cloud or in on-premises servers.
Qlik Acquires Upsolver
The acquisition combines Upsolver’s real-time ingestion to Iceberg and adaptive optimization with Qlik’s end-to-end data platform, enabling organizations to access data faster, optimize their data estate, reduce costs, and unlock AI-driven insights.
Red Hat Launches OpenShift Virtualization Engine
Focused exclusively on virtualization workloads, Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Engine provides a tailored option for deploying, managing, and scaling virtual machines (VMs), removing features unrelated to VM management.
