Data for Good: A Twitter Dialogue

I became a psychologist because I wanted to help people. Folks sometimes wonder how I got to the world of data and analytics--a sort of data psychologist. The reality is that I see my work in the world of analytics in perfect alignment with my original goals.

In my clinical work, I discovered how policies and benefits packages could be barriers to providing strengths-based, person-centered, and holistic care. Analytics, research, evaluation, data (and other words we want to throw at it) can help advocate for improved policies, systems, and structures.

Amazingly, I have found a company where a focus on corporate social responsibility is central to its identity. SAS' Data for Good initiatives are what inspire me on a daily basis. There is meaning in using technology to make the world a better place.

Earlier today, several folks joined us on a #SASchat about #data4good. If you missed the dialogue, feel free to still tweet your thoughts and view our recap moments:

What are ways you can see data being used for good?
