Data Engineer - Remote opportunity

DataArt is an IT company that designs, develops, and supports software solutions. We have more than 4000 colleagues in 22 locations in the US, Europe, and Latin America.

We do have 2 offices in Poland - in Wroclaw (on Grunwaldzki) and Lublin (on Zana st).

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join us in any Polish location or remote anywhere in the EU.

About the project:

Our client is a big online retailer with yearly revenue of ￡2 billion.

We have a long history of relationships and over the years have helped this customer to maintain and develop a data warehouse (data sourcing, ELT, and business intelligence),?web portals and mobile apps, delivery control systems, staff management tools, etc.

DataArt provides consultation and development of the software for the client in both areas of their activities: online sales with analytics and creation of the cross-functional retail platform.

Technology stack(for Data Engineering Team): Google Cloud: BigQuery (Legacy and Standart SQL), Storage, Composer (Apache Airflow, Python 3.6).

About the team:

Our team is 5 developers (1 in Lublin and 4 in Wroclaw) and 1 PM (UK) on the DataArt side + 3 developers and a Team Lead on the client-side (UK).

1 member expected to join the team.

All our team members are senior engineers with a wide technical background. Despite being distributed, the team is quite integrated.

You offer:

• Descent communication skills, willingness to communicate with client stakeholders.
• Your experience and matureness - there is no clear process to follow, we expect you to define prioritize and estimate tasks.
• ?You know databases' best engineering practices.
• You are an expert in writing SQL (preferably BigQuery: Legacy and Standart SQL).
• You have data structuring and design skills(preferably data warehouse), experience in designing ETL processes.

Would be a plus:

• If you worked with cloud-based infrastructures such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS or Azure.
• You can write code in Python or Java.

Responsibilities:

My new colleague will join the team, working on migrating ETL from custom build task manager to Cloud Composer, maintaining old ETL.
