?? Key Takeaways

?? QR Codes: Simplifying Loyalty Programs

“So we have a QR code, and if you make the purchase, it's actually Incentivio enabled, which is a cool thing. So one of the coolest ways, again, if I'm standing at the POS, I'm getting ten people in 1 hour to sign up, right? Peter shows up, he buys $50 worth of food, he gets his paper receipt, and I say, Peter, why don't you go ahead and sign up for the loyalty? If you do it by today and use the same phone number- you already gave me the phone number for our texting, just go ahead and use that same thing- the system will recognize you and give you the 50 points. So you're halfway there. So you're already 50% there. So those are the kinds of things that we've tried to do: QR codes, as one way to simplify the downloads. We've put the QR codes everywhere. We even have it on our van.”

Having customers sign up for loyalty programs can be a complicated pain for business owners. With Massis Kabob, Peter Baghdassarian has streamlined that process with QR Codes and less data collection for frictionless customer experience. ??

?? Importance of Functional Technology

“Don't launch something unless it works. If it's clunky- and I still go to some people and some of these technologies- it's not like they paid less. They probably paid a similar amount. And I'm looking at it and I'm trying to order for myself. I'm like, how could you be using this thing? This is so clunky. And some companies are huge companies that still offer that thing. It looks like it's a 1990s kind of thing, and it's not. It's clunky and so people won't use it. So one of the things I realized with technology is sometimes people have bad tech and then people don't use it. And then they go, see, I told you it's not going to work. I told you this isn't going to work. So they basically put out something that doesn't work and then it doesn't work. And then, it's a self fulfilling prophecy. And they say, you see, it didn't work out because it's not going to work out.”

It seems like a simple concept to not release an app prior to it functioning correctly. However, it happens and Peter Baghdassarian firmly believes that it should not. With the increase in technology reliance, he believes it is important for companies to have technology that functions properly to obtain and maintain customer trust.

?? Honesty in Tech Sales

“Yeah, I mean, one of the things I've done is I'm very direct and honest with people who are selling technology, I'm very direct. I mean you can even ask your founder. He was early on. Incentivio was like a newer company. And I just love the honesty he had. Honesty. He told me what you could do, what Incentivio could do and what it can't do. And he was very honest and truthful. We've become very friendly since then because I just really appreciate that honesty. And when I'm very direct with companies, I ask them and I'll sense it. What I don't like and I don't think I'm not unique. I don't think any restaurant or any business that's buying software appreciates somebody coming in with a filler sales pitch on a product that doesn't do what they say it does, right? Be honest. And when somebody says, hey, it does A, B and C, but if you really want D, it's not going to do it or it's not that good. Or we're working on D, probably not going to come out for a couple years."

As you would imagine, Peter Baghdassarian receives quite a bit of sales calls with sales people attempting to sell the latest and greatest innovation. In the name of efficiency and relationship building, he believes it is best practice for sales pitches to be as honest and transparent as possible during their interactions. ??
