Recently, I worked on a data-center project of Mumbai; Which, needed a structural framing model quickly, with only the architectural plans availability.
Here’s what I did:
?? 1. CAD Work: Extracted the planar geometry from the architectural drawings. (All unique floors)
?? 2. Grasshopper: Used the CAD geometry as reference curves in Grasshopper. Split it and used it for Columns, Beams, and Shear walls.
Flooring structural system was not same for all the floors so, the parametric definition was defined separately for each unique floor.
?? 3. Push to Etabs: Used the BHoM tool to push the geometry directly into Etabs.

?? The model is used for further engineering. Effective Time took to prepare parametric structural model was about 3 hours. It saved half of the time required for structural stick model making directly in Etabs.
> Conclusion: GH saved about 3 to 5 hours in total.
