This week I enjoyed the Federal News Network’s webinar: Data Can Prevent Fraud and Bridge Constituents to Vital Services. This event highlighted the importance of data in oversight efforts and how the audit and investigative community needs to modify its practices to meet growing and new needs. ?
I have seen the need for such modifications in my own work at the Inspector General, U.S. DOT. ?For example, proactive and predictive oversight methods and data analytics and help stem fraud and alleviate the “pay and chase” approach to overseeing federal dollars.
The event was moderate by Jory Heckman and his guests were James Ross, VA Office of Inspector General, and ?Greg Schlichter of TransUnion.
