The NJELSA (New Jersey Electronic Life-Safety Association) invited me to give a presentation on the DATA BUS DANGER at their annual conference in Atlantic City this week. The 2-hour training session covered:
- A quick 6-minute demonstration of the danger on a Honeywell Vista 128
- Video Link of Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-GHk7Evc6s
- In depth discussion and review of applicable UL and NFPA standards
- Explored the dramatic dangers that this poses to the community
- Reviewed the RISKS created for the Alarm Dealer and their Clients
The well-attended class was concerned as they came to understand the seriousness of the issues and the risks to their businesses and customers.
Ken Kirschenbaumm, Esq.:
“If the assessment by Jeff is accurate then you need to be careful about using equipment that may be compromised in unintended ways. Maybe there’s a better product if you have the choice.”
Ironically, on the same day these risks to the alarm industry were also raised by one of the industry’s leading attorneys, Ken Kirschenbaum. Kirschenbaum’s newsletter reaches over 20,000 subscribers to inform them of key issues and risks in the alarm industry. His article called out, “Jeff Zwirn knocks out Honeywell Vista fire alarm panel” and includes 2 video demonstrations of the DANGER.
