Data analytics is the process of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to find patterns, trends, and correlations.

To demonstrate this, I took a look at how Liverpool is playing currently in the new season with their new manager Arne Slot as compared to Klopp.

Let's take a look at the wagon wheel between Klopp and Arne.

What does this show? It shows you that under Klopp, Liverpool presses very high (they are 92 percentile) and they are also very aggressive (63 percentile). So this matches their heavy metal style in the past.

Slot? High press dropped down to 68% and aggression waaaay down to 26%. So Slot doesn't press as high and is less aggressive.

Now lets look at how Klopp's Liverpool's ground challenges shows up in the heat map

Compare this with Slot's ground challenges.

See the difference? There's more red in Slot's team in the middle as opposed to Klopp. We all complained in the past that Klopp's midfield used to be a bit soft, and it shows. And with Ryan Gravenberch in the middle for Slot, there's more ground challenges in the middle, which commensurates with Slot's 0.85 goals against currently.

Let's take a look at the Attack Charts

What we can see here is counterattacks have gone up in Slot's team. That was quite evident esp when we saw the 2 goals against villa. But interestingly, Chances is down for Slot vs Klopp. But Finishing is higher for Slot.

How I interpret this is whilst Klopp's team creates more changes, their finishing is lesser. Slot's team is a lot more controlled hence they create less chances, however, they tend to be better finishers. So they create lesser chances but they are higher quality chances, that's why the finishing is higher for Slot.

Do u see the difference? Slot has lesser shots, but the shot quality is better compared to Klopp's team. Klopp's shots were all over the place so their shot quality is lesser. Slot tends to take better quality shots.

So in summary the data shows Liverpool right now is pressing higher less, more controlled, counter attacking more and taking better more calculated shots which results in better quality shots and higher finishing.
